We’re thrilled to announce we’ve been shortlisted for the prestigious NHF’s ‘Best Community Support’ business award. The nomination is due to our continued charitable work in Sussex and South Africa.
Hair salon award nomination for Africa charity work
Our charity ‘Coco’s Foundation’ started 7 years ago and during that time we’ve dramatically improved the lives of South African orphans, many of whom are suffering from HIV/AIDs.
We’ve provided much-needed support and resources including 1.8 million free meals and built 34 houses, all of which were built with our volunteers’ bare hands. Our fantastic team of 200 strong volunteers, mainly from the Sussex area, have demonstrated a tireless commitment to helping those desperately in need.

Our CoCo’s Style’s Group Director and CoCo’s Foundation Trustee, Chris said: “Reaching this respected national final recognises the immense effort made by our team, clients and the local community and I’m very proud. Everyone in our three salons is deeply involved with The Foundation in so many different ways. It simply wouldn’t exist without their generous giving of time, talent and sheer hard work. ”
He continues: “Our salon team doesn’t just make a massive difference to the poverty-stricken children in Africa. They also make a real impact on our local, regional and industry communities. Thanks to the immense hard work and ceaseless enthusiasm of our team in spreading the word about the Foundation, today our fundraisers and volunteers include
- Sussex Primary and Secondary School pupils
- local churches
- WI, Rotary and Probus groups from across Sussex
- the county Guide and Scout movements
- many local and national companies
- and hair & beauty salons from across the UK”
NHF award nomination for Coco’s Style hair salon
NHF chief executive Hilary Hall said: “We had an astounding response to our Business Awards! The calibre of the entries we received from businesses across the UK was extremely high so our expert panel of judges had a tough job making their selections.
“We can’t wait to celebrate the success of all of our finalists and to announce the winners of each category of our awards’ evening – it’s going to be a phenomenal event!”
The winner of the coveted hair and beauty award will be announced at the NHF’s spectacular 75th anniversary ceremony in Birmingham on Sunday 19 November – wish us luck. And thank you once again for all of your constant support.
