Colour of the year: Living Coral

The universal colour system Pantone has announced Living Coral (Pantone 16-1546) as its colour of the year for 2019.

A warm, vibrant orange tone that’s been selected to “appeal to our need for a return to nature, but embracing the colours of coral reefs and under the sea, while celebrating the beauty of the parts of the natural world we don’t often get to see,” explained Pantone. “Sociable and spirited, the engaging nature of PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral welcomes and encourages lighthearted activity.”

There are so many ways you can embrace this beautiful colour in 2019. Think outside the box… around the home why not chose some coral cushions, bedding or throws to add a splash of colour?

We can all expect to see coral all over the high street this year. Pick up some key staple items to brighten up your outfits and ensure you are on trend. The popular makeup brand ‘butter London’ has already announced its collaboration with Pantone to launch a Living Coral collection including gorgeous lip glosses, blush sticks and nail varnishes all in different shades of coral.
